2007 Oregon Legislature
The 2007 Oregon Legislature began meeting in January. It can repeal Measure 47, if it wants to, or it can be constructive and refer a measure to voters to amend the Oregon Constitution to ensure that all parts of Measure 47 will go into effect.
The Legislature is rather likely also to attempt to impair the initiative process in Oregon. Naturally, the Legislature does not like it when the people use the initiative power to enact needed laws and amendments that the Legislature itself will not pass.
